Cold Mountain Press release
This
News release is to announce the formation of Cold Mountain-Sago Relief Fund, a non-profit
organization. Cold Mountain–Sago Relief Fund has been setup to
receive and distribute monies in behalf of the immediate family members of
the miners who lost their lives in the West Virginia mine explosion on January
2, 2006. The funds are for the education and
immediate needs of the surviving family members, as well as Miner Randal McCloy,
Jr. and his family.
Director
of the trust fund is Randall N. Brock of 116 Alice Lane, Leechburg, PA 15656, Phone 724-842-6871. Randy
has set up this fund to receive monies that would be generated from the sell
of the song “Cold
Mountain
Mourning”, a Five Hundred (500) limited edition. Copies of this song are currently being
offered online at www.ebay.com. Additional copies may be acquired by
emailing coldmountain@e-tique.com.
The
Fund will be offering the first 500 autographed copies of “Cold Mountain Mourning” on Ebay. Interested parties are bidding on
autographed copies EP single CD of the “Cold Mountain Mourning” by Randy Brock, with vocals by
Ed “Porky” Pokusa. They have written, sung and produced this song and are offering it
for sale to the general public through the Cold Mountain-Sago Relief Fund, a Trust Fund, with
100% of the profit proceeds going to the immediate families of the coal
miners in the Sago, West Virginia mine disaster on January
2, 2006.
The proceeds will go to immediate family members for educational and personal
needs.
“Cold Mountain Mourning” is a somber, melancholy
Pop-Folk tune on the order to “Ode to Billy Joe” by Bobby Gentry, or the
likes of “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot. We hope and believe you will enjoy this
tune.
Randy
Brock is a construction worker in Western Pennsylvania and works in the Coal Power Generation
Industry and was so moved by this disaster that he wrote these words and a
tune to go along. His cousin whole
heartedly jumped in to sing the vocals and “Blue Collar Records” has agreed
to label the song and Soundscape Studio has agreed to produce the
effort. All of us involved are pleased to be able to bring this song in
hopes that public too enjoys our efforts and are moved to buy this CD with
their generous donations proceeds going to Cold Mountain-Sago Relief Fund, trust fund
Be sure to request this song on your
local radio station. Station copies
can be obtained through the Cold
Mountain-Sago Relief Fund by emailing coldmountain@e-tique.com. Please, anyone who is moved to email their
