Sterling Silver Egg Cup Holder with 4 Sterling Silver Egg Cups and 4 Sterling Silver Spoons.
This item is very pre 1940. The holder holds the cups and spoons. A number on the bottom of the holder is 3 sets of numbers / letters / logos.
The top row consists of 4 digits then a logo/crest. The second row are the letters E P N S in circles. The third row is the numbers 1 3 9 also in circles.
The holder has 4 spikes that the cups sit on, near the top, a spoon rest for the 4 spoons, then a circle handle to carry it all by. On the bottom of the holder are 3 Sterling Silver ball feet.
The edge around the tops of the cups is similar to that around the base of the holder, a set of 4 lines with X 's spaced apart.
The cups are similar in design to a goblet and have a hollow tube from the base up to rest upon the spike on the holder.
The spoons have the same crest as is on the base of the holder and the same letters E P N S.
The spoons are solid sterling silver with no designs or lines other than the letters mentioned above.
To the best of our knowledge this item was made long before 1940 and was made in the UK.
Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated.
Thankyou,
Norreen MacArthur

Don't really know what to call the piece. We have owned the piece for over 40 years. Was bought in Tampa, Florida at an antique store. It is a cabinet with liquor decantors, supposedly this cabinet was kept in the captains private quarters. There is a lock and key. In this cabinet there are 3 liquor decanters that when locked are unable to be removed. There is a main compartment that is opened by the key that I think is for pocker chips and 2 decks of cards. In this main compartment there is a secret wood button that when pushed, opens up the bottom drawer. The piece is made out of wood. The doors that open up the main compartment are carved. The top portion of the wood is also carved. There are antique corner brackets that I think serve only decorative purposes. On the top of the piece above each of the decanters there are metal engraved labels. From left to right they read "Irish Whiskey", "Scotch Whiskey", "Brandy". The back part where the decanters are stored is mirrored. All the compartments are lined in velvet. The dimensions of the piece are approximate. From the top of the back to the bottom the height 12 3/4 inches. From front to back the depth is 10 1/4 inches. The width is 14 inches. Please see the pictures, although they didn't look as clear once I posted them on the website. The piece is in really good condition. Could use a cleaning... pretty dusty. Any help regarding the piece's value would be appreciated. Thank you

url_of_picture:
B1: Submit Appraisail
have a pewter match case (I don't know the year-sorry), it's 2.5 inches tall, 1.5 inches wide and the top flips up by a hinge at one side. There is a striker formed out of pewter "dots" on the bottom. All of the design on the case is raised (embossed?) pewter. It has a patriotic motif with Uncle Sam on one side, holding the front of a Columbian souvenir coin from the Columbian Exposition. The front of the coin has a picture of Christopher Columbus. The other side of the case has the back of the same coin which features Columbus' ship and the words "Columbian Exposition Chicago 1492 - 1892" At the top of the coin, is an eagle of unusual detail. The entire top of the case has raised stars-42 in all which tells me it must be fairly old. The case has been in my family for many years, but is in excellent shape. All of the raised detail is still quite prominent. Can you give me a clue about age or value? Thanks!
I have 2 china tea cups with saucers. The first is white china with a painted gold rim on both cup and saucer, gold trim on the handle, and purple flowers with green leaves and stems on both pieces. The bottom of the saucer says (in black) Royal Chelsea English Bone China with the anchor symbol in the middle and made in England across the bottom. There are also some green markings painted on side ways....the number 393 A and perpendicular just below that in the same green is a W. The cup has the same words, but the only other marking is a small purple one that resembles a misshapen R. The other cup and saucer is white with gold trim on the edges, a large yellow-gold flower with green leaves on one side of the cup (maybe a chrysanthemum?)and a smaller version of a similar flower on the other side of the cup. The saucer has both the large and small flower motifs painted on it. The bottom of the cup is marked as follows: A Crown with a marking that looks like a capital N written over a capital C and a tiny mark of some sort at the opening of the C. below that it says BONE CHINA and then MADE IN ENGLAND. Those markings are all done in brown, and to the right of that is a gold(like the rim) tiny exclaimation point. Above the whole marking is and E painted in a brown similar to the other markings. The saucer main markings are the same, also in brown except the E and the exclaimation point are not there. i have some Royal Albert Crown china made in England. I know it was brought over to the states with my great grandmother in the 1800s. It has a white background with blue flowers and trimmed in gold around the edges. I also have some hobnail? glasses. These were my grandmothers and she gave them to me...they are wrapped in news paper dated 1956. The glasses are clear glass with the round glass hobnails around the bottom of the glasses.

name_subject: antique sewing machine
url_of_picture:
B1: Submit Appraisail
I found an antique Eldredge sewing machine that someone was going to throw out, so I'd like to see if it's worth keeping/selling.
It appears to be a cast iron machine with decals on the machine and the cast iron base. On either side it says "Improved Eldredge Rotary", although it is almost gone on one side. One of the decals on the base is 10-15% rubbed off, but the rest of the decals are in good condition. There's a metal plate near the needle that states which type of needle to use, that it was made in the USA and that the patent was applied for.
It is a two-spool model. The place where the needle goes (please excuse the poor terminology) is bent, but all the parts that are supposed to move appear to move well. It is electric and the original cord and foot pedal are stored under the machine. (The machine is hinged to lift up.)
The stand it's on is wooden and would need refinishing. There are some bad scratches and water rings. There is a "door" in the front with a metal decoration on it. The door opens and there are two bins attached to the bottom of the inside of the door for holding sewing supplies.

This rod is also marked made in England. Bot rods have bags but no identification that we can find on them. They look to be from the fifties with the James bas being brown in colour with black trim and the Milward's bag army green. Both bags have two and three sections as required to hold each piece of the rods, with a foldover top and cloth ties. Both rods are in excellent condition.

I do not have a picture of it handy. It is an early 1900's Duncan Phyfe Dining table that my inlaws purchased from a seminary or monestary about 20 years ago. It is solid Mahogany with 11 regular chairs and one master's or captain's chair. The upper backs of the chairs have a hand carved flower pattern on them. The table has to flip out leaves stored inside the table. the table is mounted on two centered and decoratived lathed posts that have three claw foot legs on each. The table has a gouge on the top. What is it worth and will it loose its value if I refinish it to be in better condition?

This is the Chimney Sweep Hummel figurine. It has the MI Hummel signature on the base behind the feet. It has no cracks or chips. The paint appears a bit faded. Overall it is in very good condition for when I believe it was manufactured. On the bottom is the incised crown mark, the mold number 12., a small white tag/sticker with a blue border (nothing printed on it), and what appears to be an artist's signature in black paint. The signature is an "H" with a long "leg" on the right and then a line across the top of the "H". (Possibly someone's initials?) From the research I've done, I believe it is one of the early, possibly original, Chimney Sweep figures because it has no other mold number after the 12. and it does not have Germany written on it so it is pre-war time. Any information you can give me regarding its' value would be appreciated. Sincerely, Jennifer Haugen

It is "The Night Before Christmas" book. Printed by the M.A. Donahue & Company of Chicago. This book is in good condition. It was given to my grandfather in 1909. The unique thing about this book is that the "insides" are upside down when you have the cover of the book right side up. The book also contains several other poems about Christmas. The cover is green with a picture in the center of the front cover of Santa Claus starting to climb down a chimney. The one downfall of this book is that there are little pictures on the insides of the front and back cover and they have been colored.

It was originally purchased around or before 1950 at NK "Nordiska Kompaniet" (a department store established in 1905) and brought to the USA as the couple moved here. Their house was small and there wasn't anywhere the table would look good so they never used it. Immaculate condition. The base is 2 pieces (4 legs) that assemble with a notch in the middle and the table rests on top. I think the wood is bird's eye maple.

This is a knife which though the URL suggests is a switchblade, it is not. I belive it is very old and the only markings on it that I could find were "StainlessST ITALY" on the blade. It is definitely made of some kind of wood and the handle appears to have been fashioned by hand. Up close you can see it almost looks like it was wittled. It's in very good working condition. I just bought it and don't intend to sell it. I paid 41 dollars for it and am curious to it's actual value.

Although there is raised lettering on the stand that says patent Sept 14 1897, Simmons HDWE. CO, Inc., St Louis 8 QT . There are still red flower symbols at the top of the stand both sides and on the legs. The side of the container we believe says SHCO WONDER. The press comes with two different size plates, one says large and one says small. We figure one is for lard and the other is for sausage. The press still is in working order and is clean. The handle, plates, tube for stuffing sausage are still with it.

It is entirely made of metal (steel we think), is about 14 by 15 by 9 1/2 in high and we are guessing that it weighs about 20 to 25 lb (It is heavy!). This is a pencil drawing of Edgar Allan Poe by an artist named "Von Jost." This drawing is #1 of only 50 drawn! Very rare to find the first one! This is a great and unusual picture of Poe and perfect for literary buffs. The drawing measures 8.5" X 6.75" without the frame. Please note that the mark on his nose in the close-up picture is a glare from the sun on the glass when I took the picture and not a defect. I'm looking for any information at all you can give me about the artist or when you think it may have been taken. In the bottom left hand corner, the artist wrote "The Dreamer" and it's my understanding that Poe was not referred to as "The Dreamer" until after 1909, but I'm not sure. Thank you in advance for any insight you can give. I have seen many pictures of Poe, and none from this perspective. Thanks, Liz Barrett

I purchased this wheel chair at a garage sale.
The overall condition of the chair is great. The condition of the wood is excellent. The cane seat has a hole in it.
It is a wooden 3 wheel chair with cane back and seat with metal wheels covered with rubber. The working attaching parts are metal as well.
There is a tag/plaque on the back that says: Mfg. By The Gendron Wheel Co. Toledo, Ohio USA
Catalog #60060N
I have no clue as to the age although I am guessing it is not much later than the 1920's. Any help you could provide would be great.

This is a floor lamp I found at a garage sale a while back. If what he says is true, his wife recieved it from her grandmother, and they believed it to have come from Afghanistan??? I've looked everywhere and I can't find anything printed on it whatsoever other than on the turn switch between the arms and I believe that's only about the bulb wattage. The entire lamp from bottom to tip of top bulb is approximately 6 foot and it's extremely heavy. The electrical cord is a whopping 12 feet long. The lamp is in extremely good condition, but you can tell that is has some age, by looking at the metals. I don't know if the bulbs are original, but there are 9 and all of them work. They are hand blown textured glass. The pendants appear to be crystal and hang from smaller jewels which hang from the "candle" stem bases by what seem to be the original wires. There are a few of the pendants missing, but the majority of them are intact. The pictures appear to have white paint between the "gold" paint, but what appears to be white is actually turquoise painted. I can't tell what the material is that the majority of this lamp is made of. Plaster? Ceramic? But the very bottom of the base is a gold painted wood piece. Please help me out here. I'm dying to know.

I don't have a website to let you see a picture but I have a green lamp which stands about 9 1/2 inches tall. It has a nude woman with her arms spread across and a "cloth" drapped down her arms. She is standing on a base. The only writing on this lamp is the phrase, "Danse de Lumpiere" and across from that is says, "PAT APPL'D" Just wondering based on that if you could give me some direction on what this might be worth, or some web sites I might look at to find out. I can send you a picture with my digital camera if you let me know how. Thank you very much!
